Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it, in plain language.
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Introduction
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data Parahuman collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to our website at parahuman.co, our app at app.parahuman.co, and any related services (together, the “Service”).
Parahuman is a social listening tool. That means part of what we do is process publicly available content on your behalf. We explain how that works, and how it differs from your own account data, throughout this policy.
Who we are
The Service is operated by Parahuman LLC (“Parahuman,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a Wyoming limited liability company, at 1314 W McDermott Dr Ste 106-954, Allen, TX 75013. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@parahuman.co.
Definitions
- Personal data: any information that identifies you or can be linked to you, such as your name, email address, or IP address.
- Customer: the person or organization that holds a Parahuman account and subscribes to the Service.
- User:an individual who accesses the Service under a Customer’s account.
- Monitored Content: publicly available posts, comments, and articles that match the keywords you ask us to track. This may include personal data of the people who published that content.
Information we collect
Account and registration data
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and workspace details. We manage authentication ourselves; we don’t hand your login to a third-party identity provider.
Billing data
When you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment provider (Polar) collects your billing details and processes your payment. We receive your plan, billing status, and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage and device data
We collect information about how you use the Service, such as pages viewed and features used, along with technical data like your IP address, browser, and device type. We use this to keep the Service secure and to improve it.
We also keep a security record of sign-ins and other account events, which includes the IP address the request came from. We keep these records for 90 days and then delete them. See Data retention for what happens to them if you close your account.
Support communications
When you email us or reach out for help, we keep a record of that conversation so we can support you and improve our answers.
Data we process on your behalf
Parahuman monitors publicly available content that matches the keywords you choose to track, for example posts and comments on Reddit, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, YouTube, GitHub, Hacker News, Dev.to, Stack Exchange, Bluesky, podcasts, and the open web. We collect this content, analyze it, and show you the relevant mentions.
This Monitored Content can include personal data of the people who published it. For that data, you are the controller and we act as your processor: we handle it on your instructions to provide the Service, and you are responsible for using it lawfully, including complying with the terms of the platforms it came from and any privacy laws that apply when you engage with the people behind those mentions.
If you are a member of the public and believe Parahuman is processing content about you, contact us at hello@parahuman.co and we will route your request to the relevant Customer or act on it where we are able.
How we use your data
- Provide the Service: run your workspace, track keywords, and deliver mentions, alerts, and insights.
- Analyze mentions with AI: score relevance, gauge sentiment, and draft replies (see AI processing below).
- Send notifications: email and, if you connect it, Slack alerts about new mentions.
- Handle billing: process subscriptions, payments, and invoices.
- Support and secure the Service: answer your questions, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep accounts safe.
- Improve the product: understand how features are used so we can make them better.
- Marketing: send product updates you can opt out of at any time. We never share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
AI processing
To score relevance, analyze sentiment, and draft replies, we send keywords and the text of monitored mentions to our AI provider (OpenAI) through their API. Data sent through this API is not used to train their public models. We send only what’s needed for the feature you’re using.
Subprocessors
We work with a small set of trusted providers who process data on our behalf so we can run the Service. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only for the purpose we specify. This list may change as our stack evolves; check this page for the current version.
| Subprocessor | Purpose | Data shared | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | AI analysis: relevance scoring, sentiment, and drafted replies | Keywords and the text of monitored mentions | United States |
| Cloudflare R2 | Object storage for uploaded files and generated assets | Files you upload, account identifiers | United States |
| Polar | Payments and subscription billing (merchant of record) | Name, email, billing and transaction details | United States |
| Resend | Transactional and notification emails | Name, email address, notification content | United States |
| Typesense | Search indexing so you can find mentions quickly | Mention content and metadata | United States |
| Inngest | Background job and workflow processing | Service data in transit during processing | United States |
| Slack | Notifications and integration (optional, only if you connect it) | Mention data you choose to route to Slack | United States |
| Data collection partners | Collecting publicly available content from social, web, and podcast sources | Your keywords and search queries | United States / EU |
Integrations
Some features rely on services you connect yourself, such as Slack. These integrations are optional and only active when you choose to enable them. When you connect one, data flows to that service under its own privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Monitored mentions are retained for the window included in your plan. When you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to keep it to meet legal, tax, or security obligations.
Two things outlive the account itself, and we want to be exact about them:
- Security records. We replace your account identifier with a one-way code, shorten the IP addresses so they no longer point to you, and remove the browser and request details. What remains is a record that an action happened, which we keep for 90 days from when it was written and then delete. We keep it that long so we can investigate a security incident reported after the fact.
- Invoices and payment records. Our payment provider keeps these because tax and accounting law requires it. We do not delete them on request.
How we protect your data
We encrypt data in transit and at rest, restrict access to the people who need it to do their job, and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to keep your data safe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect yours.
International data transfers
Parahuman is based in the United States, and our providers may process data there and in other countries. When we transfer personal data out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. Wherever you are, we honor these requests:
- Access: get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction:fix data that’s wrong or incomplete.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your personal data.
- Opt out: unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
If you’re in California, the CCPA/CPRA also gives you the right to know what we collect and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. If you’re in the EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you additional rights, including the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email hello@parahuman.co.
We do not sell your data
Parahuman does not sell or share your personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we never have.
Children's privacy
The Service is for business use and is not directed at anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us their data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know by email or a notice in the Service. Continuing to use Parahuman after a change means you accept the updated policy.
